Hello, world! We’ve been working on a new game project for the past six months, and now our prototype is representative of everything we want to achieve. We’ve been working on the Electronic Evolution prototype for about six months, and we’ll soon be able to share our game with the whole world. For now, we’ve been using our Discord channel to run some pre-alpha testing as a way to refine the gameplay and make Electronic Evolution a great roguelite experience that takes place inside our superhero world, Calling All Heroes. So, even though we are still in a pre-alpha state, we thought it was time to share Electronic Evolution with you people. We hope you enjoy it!

What’s ‘Electronic Evolution’?

But what’s Electronic Evolution, do you ask? Story-wise, this is a comic book adventure that takes place inside a simulation created to work as a safe escape for training. The Imitator Protocol was developed to be the perfect assistant to virtual combat simulation, capable of adapting to the user's input and forcing him to change strategies. Unfortunately, the girl-genius Bastille did such a good job that the program went rogue, and now her robot companion B3X3 is trapped in the virtual landscape. The only way to get out is to destroy the Alpha-Imitator from the inside while trying to survive the hordes of malware he sends in B3X3's direction. So, get ready to fight for your binary life as AI faces AI in deadly combat.

It wouldn’t be a good comic book story without some fancy comic book visuals. Electronic Evolution is inspired by classic superhero stories, and the whole adventure takes place on the pages and panels of a comic book issue. With hand-drawn animation and filled with comic book effects, Electronic Evolution will allow you to take control of a superhero and feel powerful while beating up an evergrowing army of enemies. Because we all want to beat the supervillain and save the world!

And what about the gameplay? Electronic Evolution is an action roguelite, inspired by arcade experiences, and with a permanent progression system that reflects modern game design sensibilities. Electronic Evolution features:

• Random Levels: The Alpha-Imitator is spreading through Bastille's database, and it will use all the info he can get about the superheroine's previous adventures to create ever-changing challenges that B3X3 must face inside the simulation.
• Permanent Progression System: As B3X3 fights against the Alpha-Imitator, he'll get more Data Points that allow him to evolve his own program, becoming stronger and more capable of taking control of the simulation back.
• Customizable Weapons and Attachments: Bastille might be safe outside the simulation, but that doesn't mean she won't fight back; as B3X3 learns about the Alpha-Imitator weakness, Bastille can upload new Blueprints to help her robotic friend to defend himself against the malware.
• Evolving Difficulty: B3X3 and Bastille are not the only ones who can adapt; the Alpha-Imitator will create new Anomalies and even upgraded versions of levels to make sure B3X3 remains busy while the malicious malware spreads through Bastille's systems and tries to contaminate the whole world.
